Bridgetown, Barbados , August 31, 2021 — One of the positives of the global pandemic has been recognising the importance of access to medication and healthcare near homes. The Estates at St. George continues to place this as one of its offerings to future residents, announcing iMart Pharmacy will be part of the Estates Commercial centre.
iMart is the second business to be announced as part of the project in recent weeks, joining Urgent Care Medical as part of the centre.
Vice President of Project Development with Sagicor Life, Ezra Prescod, visited the commercial centre with Aldo Ho-Kong-King, Managing Director of iMart Pharmacy to see the progress. Prescod said, “From the beginning, The Estates at St. George has been about the community that will be available to residents and the ease of access, to many amenities to make life easy and enjoyable. iMart has proven itself as one of the leading convenience brands on the island. By having such a strong brand on the complex, our residents will be satisfied with all of their retail needs.”
Prescod added that having iMart join Urgent Care in the commercial space speaks to the strength of the developed brand for The Estates community. “Having two strong anchor clients such as iMart and Urgent Care, the corporate entities who are interested in health and wellness will find this to be an attractive complex not just in terms of rent but in terms of the strength of our residents.”
Aldo Ho-Kong-King said for iMart, while convenience and beauty have been two pillars for his stores, “The main push of iMart is our pharmacies, so a community like this marries very well with our brand and how we see ourselves moving forward.” He said the space will be open first to the residents and quickly to the wider public with emphasis primarily on health and the convenience store. He added, “as we have continued to develop we will be launching new products for prescription clients to benefit from our services.”
The iMart at the Estates will be the fifth large footprint store, joining the others at One Haggatt Hall, Sheraton Mall, Lanterns Mall and The Walk Welches Plaza. All locations feature an in-house Dispensary. iMart also has two express pharmacies, in the Black Rock Carlton Complex and within the Rubis Service Station and Sunset Crest, Holetown.
